Halloween Workshop

We love holiday workshops around here, heck we just love art workshops but its even more fun around the Holidays. Once October comes, I have to say that my heart becomes a little happier, my soul becomes a little lighter. October through December is a simple magical time for children.

During our workshops, I come up with about 4 or more different activities all using different types of art and media. I set out a bunch of different items and just let them create. I join in to show them how I use some of the items but not to teach them how, just for inspiration and fun for me! Let's see what we had going on today.

Well, of course, there is pumpkin painting. And yes, we picked the pumpkins ourselves. We went on a homeschool trip with about 18 other home schoolers to a pumpkin patch and learned about pumpkins, corn and vegetables. The kids were able to pick their own pumpkins and radishes and bring them home. It was a delightful day!

Next up, we used glue and made a pumpkin collage.

After that, came our colored pencil ghosts!

Now, we went for chalk and a hand print spider!

And our grand finale, our very own paper bag pumpkin patch. This activity was Mother Goose Time provided and, as always, provided us with multiple different learning opportunities while still having a ton of fun.

We practiced cutting, stuffing, painting, tying and gluing.

Apple and Cherry Trees!

During our co-op this week, we did so much! We introduced new station time where we set up a few different areas that the kids can go to and just explore and enjoy and it was a hit! We had patterns, sorting and tangram fun.

We also read Johnny Appleseed and then created Johnny puppets.

They also used a stamp pad and made thumb print apple trees and put on apple stickers.

Afterwards, they made their very own trees with a feathered friend!

They LOVED the popcorn cherry tree and I was shocked that they actually followed the rules and did not eat the popcorn used for art. They were rewarded with fresh popcorn after though!

Faithful Family with MGT

We are digging deep into our Experience God curriculum this month and I have to be honest, this comes at a great time!

The girls and I are both building our relationship with God so much stronger through Mother Goose Time and we couldn't be more grateful.

We make it a point now to pray at the table before each meal and when I forget, the girls are sure to remind me. There is something so blissful about hearing little girls say, "Dear God, thank you for this (enter whatever food we are eating) and now you may eat." It is simply breathtaking.

Before bed, Sonia and I pray and she tells me all of the things that God has blessed her with that day. Most nights it is family, her pets and her friends. But sometimes I get to hear the cutest things. The other night she told me she was blessed with her courage to be honest. This honesty ideal also came from Mother Goose Time!

Wow, all around amazing program.

This blog will feature two days where we learned about how God created all of us and Sonia made herself from the craft provided. The other day we learned about how God created the birds and she made a bird from the supplies MGT provided as well.

Not only do we get to enjoy each other but I don't even need to waste time planning as they plan ever moment and activity out for us. I also don't have to go shopping and have a surplus of craft supplies here as they provide all of the supplies to create each project.

Enjoy our pictures!

God Created Everything

The Experience God curriculum is just great. Through this curriculum, we are able to really learn about the Bible and God in a way that Sonia and Daniella both enjoy. Today we discussed Genesis 1 and how God created everything. We used the story cards and the activity to go over it. Sonia cut out all of her pieces and glued each one on as we went through each day.

Daniella joined us for our cutting and gluing of our collage to show how God created day and night.
